Great Success at the Skateraw Fair
The people of Newtonhill and surrounding areas had a great time at the Skateraw fair. There was music, food, crafts and, of course, our own stand to enjoy! We had a great turnout and good conversations with many of the visitors. We gave out lots of flyers, received many good comments and word of encouragement. We met people volunteering to assist us and/or showing interest in upcoming events.
Our primary goal in having a stand at the Fair was to ‘get the word out’ about the work of our committee, and we are certainly pleased with the result.
We had several activities at the stand to encourage participation and generate a little bit of fundraising - a Raffle, a Guess the Sweeties competition, Lucky Squares and a Lollipop Lottery for the kids enjoyment. The last of these was definitely a favourite with the kids. Competition results are at the bottom of this page.
Many thanks to all who came and spoke to us, we thoroughly enjoyed the chance to speak to you all!
We’ve had a good response on the Survey, but if you’ve not filled this in yet then please do this. It’ take just a minute or two, but we’re very grateful . Follow this link.
We’d like to express our thanks to the NVA (our parent organisation) for the opportunity to participate, and thanks to the Skateraw Fair committee for a marvellous event.
Thanks to the people who attended on behalf of the committee (Annie, Garry, Maggie and Tor) as well as the people behind the scenes (Mari, Joe and our other unseen heroes).
We will build on this success and keep the momentum with the next fundraiser.
