The Newtonhill and District Access Committee (NAC) is a sub-group of the Newtonhill and District Village Association (NVA) dedicated to improving access to natural spaces in the Newtonhill area and its surrounding villages.

The committee’s initial goal is the like-for-like replacement of the Elsick Burn bridge that was removed by the local authority. However, given that the budget pressures facing the council at this time make that unlikely to happen as quickly as necessary, we are actively seeking the approval of - and funding for - the best available interim solution that will quickly restore the lost active travel access as well as addressing all and any impacts on general amenity, emergency access or property value suffered by affected household/s as a direct result of the demolition.
